What can I expect during a treatment?
- Using a light touch, the therapist evaluates or “listens to” the body and the Craniosacral rhythm for tension patterns and imbalances. This guides the therapist to choose the appropriate ‘holds’ or gently press on particular areas to improve the qualities of the flow of the cerebrospinal fluid and help restore balance to the body’s systems. Additionally, there may be a somato-emotional release, where the body gives permission to let go of the memories and traumas it is holding onto, bringing greater emotional freedom. These releases leave the body and mind feeling lighter.
- CST is performed with the client fully clothed and lying on a comfortable massage table.
Additional Notes:
- No Imposed Corrections: unlike massage, physiotherapy and chiropractic work, Craniosacral Therapy doesn't involve imposing corrections on the body.
- Potential Reactions: it is unlikely that you will experience adverse reactions following the treatment, however, if you have any concerns, don't hesitate to contact your doctor.
Remember:
- The specific recommendations may vary based on your individual needs and condition.
